CHEM-X-INFINITY ANNOUNCES AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CENTRO DE INVESTIGACION PRINCIPE FELIPE (CIPF)

CHEM-X-INFINITY ANNOUNCES AN AGREEMENT WITH THE CENTRO DE INVESTIGACION PRINCIPE FELIPE (CIPF) the 25/06/2009

CHEM-X-INFINITY has signed an agreement with the Structural Biology Laboratory of the Centro de Investigación Principe Felipe (CIPF), Valencia, Spain, and run by Dr. Antonio Pineda-Lucena. The goal of the collaboration is to develop models able to predict the best combinations around a new scaffold for library synthesis. CIPF will use its chemoinformatic platform and CHEM-X-INFINITY will bring its expertise in the design of focused libraries.

The CIPF is a centre dedicated to biomedical research, created to undertake new challenges in the field of basic research and promote scientific excellence. The Structural Biology Laboratory’s research focuses on the structural characterization of proteins of pharmaceutical interest and the identification of modulators of the biological activity of pharmacological targets. The group is particularly involved in drug discovery projects, and complementary tools such as nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR), molecular and cellular biology, protein chemistry, chemoinformatics and molecular modeling are employed to this end.

CIPF and CHEM-X-INFINITY will collaborate in different areas of investigation, such as CNS, kinases and diversity analysis. In the terms of the agreement, CHEM-X-INFINITY will have exclusive rights for the use of the models to design focused libraries and CIPF will have access to chemical compounds for its research programs.
