 The first report of biological activity for oxazadiazoline derivatives dates back from 1983. Interest in this pharmacophore for antibiotic activity is still persisting as can be assessed from several recent publications. It has been shown that oxazadiazolines can be physiologically transformed to exhibit intracellularly the usual properties of hydrazides, notably the ability to form metal ion complexes. Applications for anticancer and GPCRs are also described.
